The Westway workforce survey was completed by 423 people based at the park. The feedback received has been extremely useful to help us to continually improve the park and address the needs of occupiers.
The survey provided useful feedback on the structure of the workforce, with 50% of respondents having worked at Westway for more than five years, 33% between one and five years and 14% less than one year.
Around 38% of respondents reside in Renfrewshire and around 53% spend less than half an hour travelling to work. The vast majority of respondents (96%) travel to Westway by car for all or most of their journeys. Only 4% of respondents walk cycling or use public transport. The survey highlighted that the morning rush occurs between 7.30am and 8.15am and between 4pm and 5pm at the end of the working day.
Survey respondents felt that Westway had improved considerably since they started working at the park and there was high satisfaction levels recorded for landscaping, signage, security and site management. Comments were raised about roads, pavements and car parking surfaces around the park. More than £160,000 has been committed to road and car park surfacing, through our programme of ongoing maintenance works, with a further £85,000 to be invested during 2017. The three-year LED roll-out street lighting programme is now complete and the additional electric car charging point install proposal will be reviewed later this year.
The survey also provided useful feedback for Renfrewshire Council, in terms of public transport provision and local amenities. We were also able to report positively on the two new City Deal bridge proposals, with 93% being in favour of a bridge linking Westway with Glasgow Airport and 89% in favour of a bridge across the River Clyde between Renfrew and Yoker.
A spokesperson from the landlord said: “It was extremely positive that so many people took the time to complete the survey and I’d like to thank each and every person who did so. The feedback and comments are very valuable and greatly appreciated, as we look to position Westway as a top business location in the west of Scotland.”
